New York 811 Scholarship Program

New York 811 is pleased to announce its first college scholarship program for graduating high school seniors.

New York 811 will select students from each of six regions covering all five boroughs of New York City, as well as Nassau and Suffolk counties on Long Island, to receive a $1,008.11 single-year scholarship.

These zones are outlined below:

  • Zone 1: Brooklyn (2 scholarships)
  • Zone 2: Queens, Staten Island (2 scholarships)
  • Zone 3: Bronx (1 scholarship)
  • Zone 4: Manhattan (1 scholarship)
  • Zone 5: Nassau County (2 scholarships)
  • Zone 6: Suffolk County (2 scholarships)

Eligibility:
To be eligible, applicants must be on track to graduate from a New York high school located in the eligible counties/boroughs in spring 2018, intend to enroll in an accredited two-year or four-year college, university or technical school beginning in fall 2018, and have participated in extracurricular activities. A rigorous application review process will consider grades in relevant coursework, a personal essay and letter of recommendation.

Application Period:
The application period will run from January 2018 to April 30, 2018.
Scholarship recipients will be notified in May 2018.
