Damage Prevention Committee

New York 811’s Damage Prevention Committee provides an open forum for its members to share ideas, strategies and solutions to prevent damage to underground facilities during excavation. Committee members include underground facility owners and operators, New York 811 representatives, excavators, contractors, government agencies and other interested individuals.

The committee meets regularly and sponsors events, seminars, outings and workshops for its members and guests. Click here for upcoming meeting times and events.

New York 811 also offers a Damage Prevention Committee, which was established to enhance relationships between excavators, utility companies, locate services and New York 811 Damage Prevention Committee members make key procedure recommendations to New York 811’s Board of Directors to help improve safe digging processes.
